In the twelve months to September 2026, Double Bay recorded 11 house sales at a median of $8.50m — up 21.4% on the year before. The spread is wide: the highest recorded house sale reached $15.0m, while entry to the suburb — excluding outlier transfers — starts around $3.70m.
Apartments changed hands 81 times in the same period — 70 more transactions than houses, at a median of $2.20m.
At the 2021 Census the suburb was home to about 4,700 people; 77% of dwellings are apartments, and 43% of households rent.
